Yes, sometimes we need to breathe intentionally…. Stress can cause us to take shallow breaths that inhibit our ability to relax, rest, etc. So sometimes we have to make ourselves take a deep breath.
(A good breathing exercise is to breathe in for 4 counts; hold for 4 counts; breathe out for 4 counts; then hold for 4 more counts; then repeat 2-3 times.) Try it. It’s really helpful at alleviating stress in your body and calming your mind!
