Resurrection doesn’t merely apply to the resurrection on the last day; it may also be the resurrection of something that has died, been lost, forfeited, or hidden. The most beautiful resurrection is the life of a prodigal who has returned to the Father.
I was once a prodigal. I had given God the middle finger and decided to live life on my own terms. Believe me when I say there is no misery like that of a child of God who has turned her back on Him…. I was lost in a way that defies words…. And while I seemed happy and fine to everyone around me, I was dying a miserable death internally.
But God…!
He patiently waited for me to come to the end of my defiance and rebellion, and when I thought things couldn’t get any worse I threw up my hands and admitted I needed Him.
In an instant, the one who never gave up on me—my Abba Daddy—swept in and rescued me from myself and the foolish, destructive choices I had made. He rescued me from despair, hopelessness, and so much more! He ran to me, carried me in His arms, and cleaned me up. In an instant the life I had known for 9 years was changed, redeemed, forgiven, and renewed, and I came to LIFE in ways I had never lived before. THIS is resurrection!
No one is beyond His reach.
No heart is so hardened that He can’t soften it.
No heart is so darkened that He can’t bring light and life to it again.
No heart is so wounded or lost that He can’t find and heal it.
If He did it for me He can do it for you or the one you love.
